Makeup by Me : From July to August

Heeeyyy everyone! It's been a while!
How you doin? Good?? Great! hahah... :D

So yeah here I am again with some reasons to tell you for not updating this blog.
But first, I want to say Happy Ied for all! Mohon Maaf Lahir dan Batin.
I know it's too late but it's better than not saying that at all ;)

Umm alright, so the reason why I've been away are; First, I had holiday for around one and a half month starting from the end of June. So I was kinda not into internet those days haha. And oh yeah, then the Ramadhan came too. My mom and niece came here to Malaysia that time, so I hung out a lot! (again, another reason to not stay home updating blog, obviously).

Second reason (which is the most exciting part), I became a part-time Make Up Lecturer in the Hair Design Academy in my university; Limkokwing University of Creative Technology, started from the end of July. Yeay! :D
That is such one of big precious parts of my makeup career so far. I mean, me being a lecturer?? I didn't even dream about that before! So thanks to Allah SWT and Limkokwing University to giving the way and opportunity for that. Alhamdulillah.

Anyways, not updating blog doesn't mean that I had no makeup works to do and to share with you.
I have actually been having some makeup projects for these last two months. The big one was on 17th July. That day, me and my two beautiful friends who assisted me; Bianca Agustina & Joseline Fang, did make up for around 21 models for Emerald Gala Charity Dinner Fashion Show in Mandarin Oriental Hotel - KL. That was a looong tiring day since I did most of the makeup by myself. Thanks to Bianca and Joseline who helped me a lot for doing the bases, eyelashes, and some lippies' stuff. I surely couldn't do those things without them. Btw, that was Malaysian Royal Family occasion. Cool, huh? ;)

Now here is the models' group picture!

Pretty girls from Limkokwing University with my makeup!

I know that you can't really see the makeup details in the picture above. I'm sorry for that :(
But I'm planning to post another blog showing each of their faces.

Ok, moving on... As I've told u, I did some makeup projects.
Some others are also for Limkokwing University. I did some makeup for photoshoots there. However, these photos below were taken by phone camera since I couldn't get the original photos until they launch the photos. But here they are!

It's always fun to watch photo sessions!

Nastya waited for her shooting time.

Not only doing makeup on other people, I also love to draw my own face in my free time.
Here is my eye with some bright fun colors, taken by myself.

Everything through my eye.
Closer.

Now is time for my last makeup work on August. This was a project I did in collaboration with my photographer friend Archie Yuan, and some cool Indonesian girl friends who created the DIY dress for this shot. This shot was made for an Indonesian Independence Day event in my university, held by Indonesian students, called Imaginesia. With our gorgeous model Aqilah, we wanted to show Indonesian great heritage in fashion through her batik dress.

Nature.
Night can't fade the colors.

Sooooooo that's all I guess!
Thank you so much for checking this out, and stay tune for my September works.

Much love, Vizzya xx

Makeup by Me : Creativity in Motion, July '12

Hi Everyone!
It's been a while!

I kinda feel like it's been ages since my last post!
Well, probably because I used to post my makeup works everyday when the first time I started to blog.
Haha! anyways, it feels so nice to come back :)

So on the last 10th July, I had such a great time doing makeup on many models for my university's fashion show called Creativity in Motion. It was held in Midvalley Mega Mall - Kuala Lumpur.

Oh, I think I have never mentioned my university before.
So for those of you who don't know, I am currently studying in Limkokwing University in Cyberjaya, Malaysia.

Actually, some days before the event, my beautiful friend Fernika Thomas who is one of the committee of the event asked me to do a singing performance for the show.
But few days after, she finally told me that the uni wanted me to do the makeup for the models.
It was such an honor for me to be able to work for the fashion show.
And fyi, the cosmetics are sponsored by Anna Sui Cosmetics. Wasn't it cool?!

Well, honestly not all the cosmetics tho. I mean, the brand did provide the complete makeup (except tools),
but I ended up use some of my own due to the inconvenience I found using the provided cosmetics.
However, I like the Anna Sui foundations and the glittery eye base a lot.
And of course their cute packaging and great signature Anna Sui cosmetics' smell. Nyum! :P

At that time, I worked with three Anna Sui makeup artists and four Limkokwing makeup artists.
It was such a good experience for me to work with other people and see how different people create different outcomes for the same concept of makeup.

The makeup look I did for Zhansaya Satybaldy (Kazakhstan).

Before the makeup session start, the committee did brief the makeup artists about the makeup reference that they want us to make. The makeup was all about squared gradient colors on the eyes and statement lips.
Since it had to be symmetrical and I am just a kind of perfectionist in this case, I took my reference seriously.

Neatness is the key of perfection for this kind of look.
Aaaand I was so happy to know that some models and even the committee of the show liked my work the most. Knowing that your clients love the makeup u do is one of the best thing being a makeup artist. Although because of that, I had to fix some looks that weren't created by me in order to make it closer to perfect.

That was quite tiring, but fun!

The fashion show itself was meant to be the show for fashion design students' final garment.
I honestly cried a little bit when my beloved fashion student friends came up on stage with their models and garments.
That moment was sooo touching my heart!
Well if you checked my previous Makeup by Me blogposts, you may know Bianca Agustina and Maria Sandra. I did the makeup for their garments photo shoot. The garments that are in this and this post are some of the garments that were shown in the fashion show.

My favorite girl Bianca on stage!

Overall, the fashion show was successful and full of joy. It was such a precious experience for me to have. I hope I will do more fashion show makeup in the very near future. And hey, here I have my photos with two of my sweet models and friends that day!

Zhansaya and Anastassiya.
Fernika, Vizzya, Okky, Bianca, Angel, and Jossy.

Thank you for checking this post! xx :)

Makeup by Me : Global Muslimah

Hello!

Vizzily is here!

About two months ago (if I'm not mistaken), I created some looks for Global Muslimah fashion editorial photo shoots.
I did several looks for several models and designers, with several fashion inspirations.
Wow, look at that, i just typed several word for several times! Hahaha!
(That was such a lame joke, isn't it? :P)

Alright, sooo where were we?
Aa ok, anyways, I had such amazing times working with some young talented fashion designers,
who are my beloved friendsfor the project.
I was excited because as a Muslimah myself, it was just an amazing experience to create some gorgeous and creative makeup looks for a project that represents my faith.

And the best part was, most of the designers and the models that I worked with are not Muslims.
Amazing, isn't it? That's the beauty of living with mutual respect in this global era :)

For this Global Muslimah theme, each fashion designer had one particular inspiration from any country.
Each one of them also had two garments for this project. I love all the garments they made, they are all amazing.

Now it's time to show you the looks i made!

For Diana Caitilin's models, I used dark purple on the creases (kinda like a cut crease style),
and gold eyeshadows on the lids, with bold black eyeliners to represent the 'Arabian' style.
The cheeks are peachy, and for the lips I used peachy nude slightly glossy color to match the eye makeup.
I really love the looks, I think they are pretty!

And hey, I like Rasa too. Such a pretty and nice girl.
Me and Diana thinks that Rasa reminds us to Emma Watson a bit.
Don't know you can tell or not by photos, but in real life they look alike! (trust me).

For these looks, again, I matched the makeup colors with the color of the garments.
In order to make variations of makeup, I drew some kind of extra-ordinary red and blue eye shadows
that were quite oversized and symmetrical for Cindy's eyes.

As for Okky's, I made kind of sharp winged black liners for the upper and lower eye lines.
The upper liners were winged up, and the lower liners were winged down.
Stunning Middle-East inspired liners, love it.

These Turkish inspired looks were really fun to make!
Just like the previous looks, these ones also bring eyes as the main focus.
Since the garments' colors are black, green, and gold; I decided to use the same colors for the eyes,
with a different style for each model.

For Bruna's eyes, I made the green color as the main color used that was applied all over the lids, creases, and even lower down from the lower lashes (which I think are cool). I then put pops of gold glitters in the tear dots and outer corners of her eyes.
Not to forget; bold eyebrows for a bit exaggerations.

For Anastassiya, I drew some wing statement shapes for her eyes using black color shadows and liner,
which kinda high up from her creases. On the lids, I applied green color that are slightly blended to the black color
in order to create some gradient effects.
Glitters are fun! That's why I didn't forget to put some on her tear dots to made the eyes appear brighter.
And one more thing; look at the dutch braid that i did for her hair! I think it goes well with her headgear :)

Both of them wore half-ended fake lashes by Etude House that are well-loved by me.

For the models' lips, I used coraly nude lipgloss to balance out their eyes.
And for their glowing cheeks, my secrets were NARS Orgasm blush + The Balm's Mary-Lou Manizer highlighter.
They both are my absolute favorite products!

Isn't she pretty? She is my adorable roommate here in Malaysia; Cindy :)
As for her cowboy style garment, I used some deep brownie, and a touch of beige as her eye shadows.

For the cheeks and lips I used pinky corals to make the look fresh and cheerful.
This look is quite simple and easy to make.

Fyi, I actually did some other looks too for this project.
But well, this post is already long and I think that should be enough.

BUT
I do have some other Behind The Scene photos that I'm gonna show you, yeaaay!

Hope you like this long post I made
and thank you so much for checking this out :)
